Lanfear Wills

These are pre-1858 wills found in the Public Record Office and County Record Offices proved in church courts. In some cases the will has been photocopied and the text of the will transcribed and in others, the will has been read at the record office and the genealogical information extracted.

Of particular interest is the will of Richard Lanpheare, which mentions that his son George is living in New England. This George is a plausible candidate for the George Lamphear of Westerly, Rhode Island who is the earliest known Lanfear in the United States of America.
